Do they even hear themselves anymore? They're literally saying: "Don't write for that old algorithm; write for this new algorithm instead, even though we've lost control of it and don't really understand why it's doing what it's doing." They don't seem to understand that the Google Search algorithm isn't actually a human user. That it's a mathematical attempt to deconstruct human user metrics, that it does an increasingly poor job of that because they've gummed up the works with all sorts of attempts to be too clever, and that the AI element is making it unstable and inscrutable. I have no idea who Ms. Harvey is and have never seen her content, but she's been gaslit.

The pool of suckers SEOs can take advantage of is shrinking fast. Many site owners now understand that AIO, refinement boxes and ads are getting all the traffic. Just look at all the blow-back from Google's latest Creator Summit, which suggests people aren't buying anything Google says.

Lots of sites dropping here in Brazil. Discover graphs in GSC also with weird behavior. One in particular jumped from 2024/12/17 to 2025/04/15. No gaps, just like last december was yesterday

Yet some SEO types are still lying on Reddit and online hoping some desperate website owners hire them. and after getting paid telling the customer they did their best when the site doesn't get traffic or rank due to AI overviews. The SEO trying to sap out the most money from desperate owners who lost traffic before they become obsolete.

The "volatility" nowadays. BIG sites go higher. SMALL sites go lower, to the point they will go extinct, buried deeper to make sure they will no longer appear.

Why do people complain about Google Discover traffic gone when that is a random inclusion, it's not guaranteed and you cannot sign up for it or submit a site to it. There is no way to get into Discover other than Google choosing you.
